Career & Self-Development

At Cox, I learned to celebrate each of my successes by identifying my growth humbly, yet proudly. For example, with all my medical issues I had to learn not to think negatively towards my struggles. My team at Cox continuously celebrated my successes by acknowledgment and praise, which led me to becoming in the habit of doing the same. I learned that it is important to work for a company that celebrates their workers' successes while supporting them through their hardships. Cox has helped me become confident, which confidence is not only important to have going into an interview but also throughout a career.

Communication

I have learned that a workplace who values me as a worker will also value my questions and feedback despite my position. For example, both my bosses value my feedback and will not downplay me for asking a question. I have asked both of them countless of questions, in which they have happily answered. They encourage growth within my career.

For example, I have asked my boss, Rachel Gribbin, many times about cox jargon and what different things meant. For example, I had asked Rachel what Cox Farms was by messaging mid meeting. She happily responded. Spoiler: Cox Farms is an actual farm that grows fresh produce for nonprofits.

Professionalism

Despite my bosses' support, I have had other interactions who were not found of me while in my Atlanta orientation trip. I would like to think I handled these encounters gracefully. I did not feed into their antagonizing questions and comments; instead, I continued to be my authentic self and continue seeking out those who were more positive.
